The first part of any project is knowing what material you have and managing expectations. We want to connect with you on your initial consultation to guide and educate you on the process. I want to be sure you get professionalism and quality work when it comes to processing your material. Your time is valuable and we should make good use of that.

 

Picking a spot to set up the operation is extremely important. The ideal operation is setting up the mill right next to the log/s, away from any structures, with room on both sides in order to stack the boards/slabs, and a spot to place any waste material.

 

Its your material so I invite you to be part of the processing. Not only is it important to know what you want and for you to be sure you get what you're looking for, but how cool is it to see you leading the operation in front of your neighbors and family? 

 

That being said...Logs are heavy! 

 

A very humbling reality is we aren't Superman. Sooooo ... knowing, (***not learning***), your physical limits is a good way to start.

Before we get on site, having the right tools for the job is essential for your safety and impacts the time it takes to process your lumber. In short, do you need hydraulics? Or will we be safe with ramps, winches, and cant hooks? Sawyers Approach partners with a skid steer owner at your request which will be addressed during your initial consultation.
