Drive By Opportunity

Sometimes you see something and you don’t know exactly what to do but you know there will be an opportunity if you decide to act!

I was driving on the highway and I saw some logs from a downed tree, or two, or three, in the grass in between a cemetery and the road. They looked to be fresh and in good condition so I put a phone call into the mayors office. After a little phone tag and passing me around, I was told I could take the logs.

I recovered all of them (in 3 or 4 trips,) and brought them to the mill. After some thought, I decided I have enough material to finish my spring project and then some. So I made a couple benches. They’re study and I gave them a good char for finishing!

I was chatting with my child’s horse riding instructor and the subject came up where they knew someone would be interested. They came out and bought them both. I got a call today and they want two more! And they want to discuss a couple other projects so with any luck, you’ll have a few more blogs soon!
